Donald Carano II is proud to call himself a native Nevadan. Growing up in and around his family’s property, The Eldorado Hotel & Casino, in Reno, which provided for a unique childhood experience. He’s always considered it to be a second home.
Donald began working in the hotel’s famous Pasta Shop at age 12. After graduating from Bishop Manogue Catholic High School in Reno, he attended junior college in Southern California where he played on the college’s golf team and later attended business management classes at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Subsequently, Donald obtained a culinary arts degree from his parents’ alma mater, The Culinary Institute of America. He began his career at the Eldorado Scioto Downs in Columbus, Ohio. In 2018, Donald returned to Reno to assume the role of Director of Food and Beverage at the Eldorado, Silver Legacy, and Circus Circus in Reno. In 2022, Donald accepted the position of Director of Community Relations. Where he focused on digital reputation and the company’s philanthropy efforts.
This year, Donald resumed his role of Director of Food and Beverage for Caesars Downtown Reno properties. Outside of work, Donald enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife, Bailey.
